Negroni for CORE
There is nothing quite like summertime in Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love bustles with tourists at every museum, crowds with concerts on the Parkway, and locals occupying their favorite restaurants with weeks designated to craft drinks, beer, and food.
This year, Urban Farmer Philadelphia participated in Negroni week from June 4th to June 10th. Negroni week, presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, hiaghlights the tasty cocktail one week every June in various restaurant and bar locations in efforts to raise money for charities around the world. Each restaurant or bar that chooses to participate may choose to raise money for one of the many charities across their state. We chose to raise money for CORE, Children of Restaurant Employees.
A Negroni features Campari, gin, and vermouth, but we wanted to spice the cocktail up a bit…quite literally. We incorporated chipotle-infused Campari with Bluecoat gin, sweet vermouth, and honey together in perfect harmony to create our twist on the classic Negroni, “Mount Vesuvius.”
But we didn’t stop there! Urban Farmer also featured Negroni desserts that made eating a Negroni just as good as drinking one. Our light and fluffy brioche donuts were filled with an orange-infused crèmeux and our Campari ice cream sandwiches featured candied orange cookies.
Being able to craft what we love while donating to a charity close to home made Negroni week at Urban Farmer as special as summertime in Philadelphia.
